Mutate Britain: One Foot in the Grove
It looks like East London isn't the only preserve for great street art. Mutate Britain has moved west for a temporary exhibition of contemporary street art and graffiti. Situated under the Westway flyover off Portobello Road, the event showcases the best talent the UK has to offer. You can still catch it until the extended closing date of Sunday 1st November. Go see it.

Graffiti is found more frequently in urban areas of London. But art has no boundaries. Here in gentrified West London, you can still find some hidden gems, like this humourous take on the board game, Scrabble, in Portobello Road.

iPhone Travels: Rivington Street, London EC2A
Hidden away in the Shoreditch jungle is Cargo, an urban bar in the narrow alleyway of Rivington Street. It isn't the enviable outdoor space so rare in London's drinking establishments that impresses, but the beautiful outdoor murals that decorate the mundane brick walls. One of which is a Banksy original covered behind a protective plastic screen for any prospective art thieves.

iPhone Travels: Scrutton Street, London EC2A
Walking through the streets of London can reveal some amazing street art. Much effort goes into these artistic displays that spring up in the night only for the Borough Council to deem them a public eyesore and remove them. But the very nature of graffiti is never static, but dynamic and alive which makes it a very exciting art form.

After eating a delicious meal at The Bistrotheque in deepest Hackney, I finally had to excuse myself and head down to the toilets where I found a rather unusual proposal displayed above the urinal. Unfortunately, they forgot to leave a phone number.
