iPhone Bites: LMNT

Queensbridge Road isn't really the first place you'd go looking for a bite to eat, but this unusual venue is worth the visit for it's decor alone. Think abandoned Cleopatra Hollywood film set, and you pretty much have an idea of this crazy but fun place. The experimental European food is equally as eclectic with starters such as moules in curry, beer and cream sauce, which worked quite well surprisingly. Though what this has to do with Egypt is anyone's guess. You'll also be forgiven for taking a little too long in the restrooms for admiring the exotic art.

iPhone Bites: Tokyo Diner

If you're ever stuck for a decent place in Chinatown for some cheap but delicious Japanese food, you could do worse than this charming little place situated on the corner of Newport Place and Little Newport Street. Tokyo Diner prides itself on being authentically Japanese, and even follows the age old tradition of not accepting service charge. The menu, including photos for the uninitiated, is kept short but varied with prices for a Salmon Don (shown here) for £10.00, to the more hefty Bento Boxes for £12.00 onwards. Beers are served in cans at sub £2.00, or you could stick to the Green Tea which is served free . The staff are efficient but polite which is a shame as this is the kind of service I wouldn't mind paying extra for.

iPhone Bites: Leong's Legends

Coming home via Chinatown, I stumbled across this awesome Taiwanese restaurant in Macclesfield Street, hidden away from the main drag. Melt-in-your-mouth slowly braised belly of pork, steamed rice and chinese tea all for under £6.00. Much more satisfying than a McDonald's.
