iPhone Travels: Regent's Canal, London

Regent's Canal

The once bustling waterways of London have all but seen it's use diminished to tourists in their canal boats. Opened in 1801, Regent's Canal was once part of the city's artery system, providing mass transportation across the city from Limehouse, in the east, through Camden, around the back of London Zoo in Regent's Park, finally joining up with the Grand Junction in picturesque Little Venice, west London.

The ancient canal systems provide an alternative route to cutting across the urban landscape away from the hustle and bustle of traffic. Tranquility can be found anywhere if you wander off the beaten track.
